Yay Health Week!

I am designating next week "Georgia Health Week!". In this week we will have a dental appointment, an eye appointment, 4 days of gym, and a hair appointment. Quick health question? How many grams of fiber does a woman my age need? How about a man my age? Why is fiber SO important and can you get too much? Answers later!

Ooo, ooo, a quiz! No idea, No idea, Keeps your innards from getting clogged and stagnating (and other nasty things) and hauls some other "toxins" out, and no, not as long as you drink plenty of fluids, get the vitamins you need plus protein and don't eat non-digestible cellulose, like pure wood.

10 grams of fiber per 1000 calories or 20-35 grams per day?

Women ~ 25g per day, Men ~ 35g. Fiber not only increases digestive mobility, but it also (and this is a big one) keeps you hydrated. Eating fiber can make you feel satiated longer and also maximizes exercise efficiency. Up wards of 40g from a low fiber diet can cause some gastrointestinal distress. Gradual increases are recommended.

Gradual? You mean not dumping a whole sweet potato, corn on the cob and blueberries in there with a granola bar for desert. The hydration part I did not know. Thanks!
