Dengue Fever

As many of you all know, mosquitoes and other assorted bugs breed in out shower and sink pipes. We spray every morning to take showers, and most of them still aren't dead. While waiting in the campus clinic to get my prescription filled, I saw an interesting pamphlet about Dengue Fever. Dengue fever is an incurable mosquito borne illness found in Hawaii. It is similar to malaria with symptoms including high fever, severe headaches, vomiting, body and joint pains, eye pain, and rash. The mosquitoes are most active right after daybreak (6:30-8:00) and just before dark (5:00-6:30). These are the only times I am really in the dorm. How can the United States do such a great job at getting rid of mosquitoes in Panama, but we can't get rid of mosquitoes in a public school dorm?

I hope the toilets get fixed soon, mosquitoes can breed in them. Hepatitis/Dengue fever mosquitoes...nothing better.

*They have invaded the room. I have killed 10 in the past hour, 6 while doing calculus homework. They are EVERYWHERE!!*

Grr...

I do not appreciate the Republican party paying for pop-ups that say, "The Republican Party will continue to improve the economy." which interfere with my ultimate internet browsing experience. I especially do not appreciate it as I think of the tax cuts to the rich, and then thinking of trying to find a toilet that works in my STATE AND FEDERALLY FUNDED school. Just......FUCK!

The Great Potty Caper

They turned off our water today at 11:00 am. In the process, they somehow broke the toilets on my side of the 3rd floor hallway. The maintenance guys came at 2 to fix them. It is now 7:30 pm and our toilets still. don't. work. If I wake up in the middle of the night and have to pee, I am going to be pissed if I have to walk to find a toilet that works. I hate Hawaii. Isn't this some sort of health code violation or residential negligence? I want a housing refund.

Birthday at Buca's

My birthday was so tasty!! 4 of my friends and I went to Buca di Beppo's which is an Italian restaurant which serves food family style (communal entrees). We got stuffed on mozzarella, tomatoes, roasted red and yellow peppers, chicken parmigana, and spaghetti with meatballs. We topped it all off with spumoni, chocolate cake, whipped cream, vanilla ice cream, and Sambuca sauce. A three course meal for five people ended up at $65 or $15 per person. Yum!!

Nicole has a birthday party of cake and beer planned for this weekend. Fun times!!!

Physics or Something Like It

My physics TA is so stupid. I got frustrated with him and walked out on him (not subtly either). He is unorganized, and while I'm sure HE knows physics, we don't, but he teaches it to us like we should know all of it before hand. I understand it, but many in the class have no clue. He conveys information poorly, so I often ask him to clarify specific things. He sometimes claims he has already (when he hasn't), or will go uh...... for about 20 minutes before going, "Ok, let's start over." Is this what I pay (or would pay) tuition for? The fact that I am out of here in fall is my only hope.

Shouldn't You Be Licking Something

Roomie and I went out yesterday. Here is a night in review, categorized by location:

Sears: I found an awesome birthday shirt! Happy Birthday to me. I also tried on this outfit that made me look like an awkward red-polka-dotted elephant. The shirt looked nice, but the skirt was not built for some one with large hips. The shirt really did looks nice...
Drama: A group of middle schoolers were arguing. You know, the fat, bossy kind in hoochy clothes that almost always turn out to be hos in high school.

Sears does not have an accurate bathroom scale. I was either 100 lbs or 160lbs. Roomie was either 93 lbs or 145 lbs, but she is neither (she is much shorter than I).

Hallmark: Looked at cards. Stocked up because I remembered everybody's birthday.

Old Navy: I bought a pair of slippers (sandals) because I have walked the heals out of mine several times over.

Gap: Walked in this 3 story establishment to find zero (0) shoes.

Sephora: Got holiday make-up on sale for $5.

The Body Shop Kiosk: Put smelly stuff on while Roomie bought a present for her mom. The dark brown body butter with the nuts on it smells SO good.

Tower Records: See "Canadian Club Love" below.

The bus stop: We sat at the sketchiest bus stop in Honolulu. The bus stop is right outside of a sex shop, next to three (3) exotic dance clubs and a tattoo parlor on one side of the street. Across the street is a shady night club that I am boycotting due to their mistreatment of animals (they keep monkeys behind the bar). While waiting at the bus stop, Roomie and I got hit on 3 times, got stared at by an old man in an SUV, got yelled at numerous times, met some guy waiting for the same bus as us that never came, saw and infinite number of slutty outfits and bad hair, heard glass break about every 15 seconds, got fully view of the people going in and out of the sex shop, and called TheBus to find out when ours was coming. They said ten minutes. We waited 30, got fed up, and started walking only to find that the walk is about 15 minutes and well lit (for the most part). We got worried when the street lights would go out as we passed them. The route also took us by a Taco Bell and the ice cream store.

Taco Bell: Some drunk/high/crazy not homeless guy came up to us during our taco experience and said, "Can I have some change or something, I'm saving up for a bean burrito. Just throw it at my face, or throw a brick or something." Roomie gives 50 cents. He says "I love you!" I give him 22 cents. He says, " I love you, you guys are wonder..." He then drops 12 cents and Roomie says, "You dropped some change." He kind of stares at it a while and then bends down to pick it up. "Come here Mr. Lincoln Winkin. Mr. George Washington." Then he walks up to the Order counter and says, "Hey!!! I GOT IT!! Come here teenie beanies!! My little beanie weanies. I love beanie teenies!!!!!!!" I assume after this he either walked out or was thrown out because we didn't hear from him after that. He totally interfered with my taco experience.

Bubbie's (shouldn't you be licking something?): This is my FAVORITE ice cream store, and is probably the only thing besides the shaved ice place I will miss. We got mochi covered ice cream. Mochi was invented by some freaking smart Hawaiiaese (Hawaiian/Japanese) person who pounded rice until it was chewy, soft, yummy, and mochi-asm-tastic. It was like three mochi/ice cream orgasms for $2.50. Bubbie's serves a wide variety of ice cream-tastic delights including: A Functioning Prostate, Come Here Little Girl, Bite Me, and the wonderful Bite My Balls which includes 16 scoops of ice cream. Their motto is, "Shouldn't you be licking something?"

Dorm: RS calls me drunk off his ass and crying. He says he wishes I was in his arms right now. I tried to coach him to his bed. Finally I said, " I think you need to go to bed." He said, "You always tell me these things, and you're usually right. Even when I don't know it." It made me feel strangely like a dominatrix, and I kind of liked it.

Ugh!

Apparently Dubya and Tony Blair have been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize. I think I will vomit if they win it. The good news is they have little chance of winning it. He is among good company, here are some of the other nominees: Pope John Paul II; the European Union to mark its expansion to include former East bloc states; the Salvation Army; former Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler; former Czech president Vaclav Havel; former Yugoslav president Slobodan Milosevic; and Chinese dissidents. Bush should feel right at home among Hitler and Milosevic.

On a different note, scientists are looking at ways to for a superconductor of potassium. They made the particles act in a unique way, in essence forming a different sort of matter.

Canadian Club Love

I have been looking for this one CD by Roxy Music and have never been able to find it except for ordering it off Amazon, but I don't like ordering stuff online. It was $12. It's like a Roxy Music-asm. I also got Nosferatu which it the original silent black and white vampire film on which Shadow of a Vampire was based. Mr. Kilgore turned me on to classic horror and fantasy films in his horror&fantasy class. Thanks Mr. Kilgore. Also among my little finds were a Grateful Dead CD and the SLC Punk Soundtrack. YEAH!

What I Do

I think it is time I gave a very clear picture of what we do to the sheep. We actually did two experiments, so I will outline them for you now.
Experiment 1:
1. We put in a jugular catheter (a plastic tube in the jugular vein) and cap it to draw blood and administer anesthesia.
2. We cut them open and take out the Corpus Luteum and 26 caruncles (site of implantation and the maternal contribution to the placenta), and chop them all up.
3. We use a highly concentrated pentabarbitol solution to euthanasia them. It is bright pink and thick (if you will remember when it got in my mouth).
4. Incinerate the carcass.

Experiment 2:
1. Jugular catheter the day be for a set-up.
Set Up:
1. Cut open the leg to the saphenous vein. We catheterize it (it's a bitch) to draw blood from the Vena Cava where the uterine-ovarian vein drains.
2. Sew it up.
3. Cut open the abdomen and catheterize the uterine horn.
4. Push the guts out of the way and poke the catheter through the body wall.
5. Sew everything up.
6. During the week give treatment every 4 hours. Every 12 hours, blood needs to be drawn and spun, the room needs to be cleaned, and fresh water needs to be given to the animals.
Take down:
1. Cut open abdomen and check that all catheters are intact.
2. Take a blood sample from the uterine veins. They are tiny, rolly little buggers.
3. Cut out corpus luteum if it is still there.
4. Take caruncle samples. We need 24 total.
5. Put her down and incinerate the carcass.

Fun stuff.

Good Bill of Health

Finally figured out the virus scan. My computer now has a clean bill of health. YAY!

Rain

I have been wet all day, and not in a good way. It started at 5:45 am. EL and I got out of hormone/blood sample stuff and found it to be POURING. EL has a motorcycle. Off we went on the bike in the rain. It felt like little tiny needles that make you cold.
At 7:30 am I woke up again and took a shower. My hair looked really nice.
At 8:15 am the Heavens opened up and crazy rain started falling. I was soaked by the time I got across the street. I then froze my ass off the whole class.
Any time I walked outside today, it was raining.
I walked to the lab. It was sunny when I started. At 3:40 pm it started raining. Again. It was ok because now it is cool outside.

How Nice

How nice is it when...

...you realize the book you're reading is very good?
...somebody, out of the blue says, "Have you lost weight?"
...you get to sheep surgery and they are all done?
...your hot physics prof., whose butt, you found out, looks great in jeans, picks up a bottle of water and sensually runs it across his forehead in the middle of class?
...the calculus Nazi assigns the same homework he assigned Wednesday, so you are calculus free this weekend?
...Monday is your birthday so everybody took your blood sample/hormone treatments this weekend?
...you realize that fudgecicles only have 90 calories, and how good fudgecicles are?
...it's Friday?

Today has been GREAT!!!

Moods

Roomie played classic rock (100% 70s rock). It was fantastic. I suggest you try it. It kind of was empowering to me, but you may have a different reaction. It was kind of strange though because we are in a similar situation as were these people when the songs were written. After of plenty of Three Dog Night, I feel empowered enough to scream, "MORE BOOM BOOM!" back at the people outside. That killed my political moment. I'll have another one soon, I'm sure. Nicole and I have both zeroed in on Kerry as our favorite Demoratic canidate. Mine only after Gephardt dropped out of the running.

Vote in 2004....please.

The Hair

I feel like I am a patient person. I can wait out a storm if I have to. I feel I am very patient with other people. I found myself very irritable today. I mean irritable to the point my own mother would call me nasty. This is not in character, but because it was how I felt today, here is a list of things tht pissed me off:
1. The guy with the fluffy hair whose fluffy hair blocked my view of the board in calculus at 8:30 am.
2. The guy with really strong cologne who sat in front of me and made me gag.
3.The chick in English class who has normal hair with normal length bangs, but insists of flipping them up in the front. It looks like she glued a fan to her forehead, standing in my way while I was trying to get out of the English room.
4. The people in my English class who don't speak English.
5. The groups of about 4 (ususally Japanese) people who walk across a side walk and don't even attempt to make room for you. I ran into three people today because I didn't feel like walking in the mud.
6. Plane fares to the mainland.
7. The chick at Long's who thought I was trying to use an invalid coupon.
8. The realization I have a hormone/blood sample shift on my birthday when my friends and I were going to go out to dinner.
9. The cafeteria running out of tofu. Maybe I am just protein deprived.

Conflicted

So RS and I are having problems. I think the distance is getting to us. This brings me to Spring Break. If I don't go to Texas, I will be in Terre Haute in the fall because I don't want to go to a school I've never been to. Milk says she can only have me part of the week, and while JR gave me an invite at his place, he and Milk are not on the best terms right now and it would be weird if they had a fight and I go caught in the middle like that. Roomie wants me to either stay in a hotel with her or go to Maui with her for spring break. Monetarily, I think Roomie has a good plan, but I really think I should go visit the school. In the words of Ryan, I'm conflicted.

*Just got a bank statement from the account on the island. I can afford a ticket to the mainland, but it still is a pretty penny, being tourist season and all.
Tofu is SO good.

Falling Bodies

Sitting in Physics today, and listening to these annoying girls behind me. "Like, it's hard when he's away because I all I have are my cats. I leave at 5:30 in the morning to get a good parking space. I didn't really need anything romantic, it was just like like like like............." Her husband is in the military and for those who haven't been paying attention to me, Schofield and Pearl Harbor are being cleared out. I think after next week I will have no male friends on the island. This chick lives in Waikiki. That's about a 45 min walk. About a 10 min drive. 15 if you live by the mall. At 5:30 in the morning there are about 5 cars on campus. I know this because I frequent the campus at 5:30 in the morning on the way to sheep. I don't know why I sat there again because I knew she talked a whole lot. To all those people who don't think their shit stinks because they live in Hawaii, and/or are married, it does. It stinks because you think you are better for being monogamous at 20...For the rest of your life in a very sheltered environment.

Picture

I took Roomie with me today to go take blood samples and give hormone treatments to sheep today. She said it disturbed her to see the tubes coming out of the animal. Afterwards, we went to Longs and Safeway. We picked up Goldfish, shampoo, tissues, Ramen, Oriental food, paper towels, pantyliners, a ruler, a protractor, and PICTURES!!! Though you might like to see them.

Money Dependence Today

I want to put something in perspective here. I could fly from the mainland to Europe for less than I can fly from here to Los Angeles (the cheapest mainland flight). I am starting to get thoroughly depressed about my situation. I really need to go to the mainland over spring break to look at a school, and it's more than $800. I am feeling money dependent today. *start rant* Everytime I travel, I am reminded by my mother who reads my bank statements that I have limited funds and I should just stay in Hawaii and do stuff there, don't spend so much money (all I buy is food), and college is really expensive. This is my argument that seems to bear no weight:
1) I held down a steady job throughout my senior year and over the summer. I worked my ass off and saved up my money. They spent no money on me including my own car I paid for, my senior supplies, entertainment, college applications, housing deposits, and other such expenses that come with being a senior in high school.
2) No tuition is being paid because I got an academic scholarship. I only pay for housing, meal plans, and books.
3) The Parental units paid for one (1) ticket. A one way to the island. I forked out about $900 to come home for Christmas. I paid $600 for a ticket home in May. Not counting personal trips, I have already paid half a semester's tuition (if I paid for it) in plane tickets. Parents have offered $0.
4) Even if all I buy is food, at $5 for a bag of Hershey's Miniature bars, I think it is expensive to live here and do stuff here.
5) Sister's education cost 25,000+ dollars a year. My education for the first year has cost them 0 dollars.

And yet I still get lectured on wasting my money. I remember mom once saying, "You don't seem to be saving up any money from this job, ad you sure are working a lot." I said, "Can I have money to get my car serviced?" She replied, "You have a job. You can pay for it."
I also paid for pretty much everything else my senior year. They spent all of $100 the entire year. The whole reason I got the job was because they often wouldn't give me lunch money, claiming they didn't have any. Not that I'm not grateful for all they have done for me, I just wish they would either shit or get off the throne, so to speak.

I feel money dependent. Fuck it, I'm going to the mainland. If I am going to work this summer (I plan 2 jobs), I may as well get through this year in one, mentally sound piece.

Strange

Something very strange happened yesterday afternoon. Three tornados touched down on the island. Now, I'm sure you don't think that is weird, but let me tell you, it's unheard of here. Tornados NEVER touch down on land here. Even the islanders will attest to that, but it happened. Waterspouts are not unheard of, but they are not common. A tornado is downright freaky because a) there is not enough land for the odds to be with a storm, b) the land is not flat so storms lose strength VERY quickly, and c) it just doesn't happen. What''s more, there were two! They were twin twisters, side by side. The people who live here, however, really didn't care. They all came outside with camcorders and filmed the funnel clouds coming down. I guess to them it was like watching Haley's comet or some weird event that takes place only once every 1,000 years. I think it made front page on the newspapers.

Bad Karma- Update

I think I must have bad karma as well as The Smartest Guy I Know. You see, TSGIK's worst nightmare in high school was English with the crazy mountain lady. Mine was calculus with 4 teachers before Christmas. He is having to relive his English nightmare, and I am having to relive my calculus one. No, I don't have a new teacher. This one is sadistic enough. You see, he gave us this problem. The concept was easy. Take a polynomial, sub in (u+a) for x, and multiply. Simple. The problem he gave us was x^14-7x^12+8x^7+3x^5+x^2-4x+12 at a=14. He gave this to us on Friday when he knew we couldn't get to a computer lab and even mentioned that. He laughed when he wrote it on the board. He told us he knew we couldn't get to the computer lab, but he wasn't sure if he was going to extend the due time until 4 pm instead of 9:30 am. He is a sick Nazi math bastard. The concept is simple, the problem is just him exercising power. I have an advantage, my sister, most of her friends, and half of mine are some sort of engineering majors with computers with programs that will do this. I asked TSGIK if he could use his to do this. He said yes. He is my best friend.

Shoe Porn

Thankfully Roomie and I share the same fetish...shoes. We will sit on the internet looking at shoes for hours when both of us are supposed to be doing homework. Shame on us. I'm not talking just shoes, I'm talking shoes I will never be able to afford unless I make at least $500,000 a year. For example: These Bruno Magali boots are on sale for a modest $687.90. Likewise, if I had an extra $455 lying around, I would buy these. For just $335, I can indulge in a pair of Stuart Weitzman sandals. When I am filthy rich, I am going to buy these Manolo Blahnik evening sandals for a measly $865.

This is my pornography.

Simple Pleasures

There are sometimes when you are doing shit jobs that you take pleasure in simple things. Take, for example, my doing sheep-surgery related activities. I really don't like drawing blood, pushing drugs and euthanasia, or doing other things during surgery. All of my activities are made harder by the simple fact that my gloves are always too big unless I wear fitted gloves which I think feel funny. Not anymore. I was delighted today when I learned we had smaller, thinner gloves which make my tasks worlds easier. I was in a good mood because they were SO much easier. Also, I got to use a 5cc syringe for the euthanasia which I also like better than a 10cc syringe. It fits better in my hand, is just the right size for a lethal dose, and isn't as clumsy or tough when I push the thick, happy pink colored poison into the animals veins. It's the simple things in life that really give you pleasure.

ADD

I'm adding one more college to my possibilities. Tulane. Did you know they have a college of Tropical Medicine?

For all of those who have spent any significant time in The South have heard some biblical curse. We've heard everything from burning in Hell for having an opinion to being struck down by God for, well, sometimes we don't really get a reason. The is now a way to get back at all these people without thinking. Say hello to the Biblical Curse Generator. You will make the blasphemous quiver when you bellow:

"Behold, thou shalt go about weeping and wailing in sackcloth and ashes, O thou love-child of Methuselah!"

Now THAT is intimidating.

*note* You can get the nutrition you need to battle these crazies with a Bible Bar. It contains all the foods of Dueteronomy.

Creepy Guy

Saturday morning: the telephone rings...

*Ring!*
ME: Hello?
GUY: (heavy breathing) I just woke up, and the sun is coming through, I thought about you. Oh God, help me.....
ME: Um, who is this?
GUY: (heavy breathing) Some one who loves you very much.
ME: Who is this?
GUY: (heavy breathing) Think about some one who loves you very much. I think I'm getting strep.
ME: Do you have the right person*?
GUY: (cough, heavier breathing) Yes, you don't even recognize me.
ME: I don't think you have the right person.
GUY: (heavy breathing, despondently, angrily) YOU DON'T EVEN RECOGNIZE ME!**
ME: Who are you looking for?
GUY:(heavy breathing) Michele.
ME: This isn't Michele.
GUY: (heavy breathing, full on despair) OH GOD! I got the wrong number!
ME: (reassuringly) It's ok. Have a good day! (thinking, "Don't ever call here again, freak.")

*Roomie has a stalker guy who, while halfway normal and never engaging in such creepy conversations, is creepy in his own right. I thought it might have been him.

** This conversation was much much longer, but most of it was him getting increasingly angry and insisting he had the right person. Plus lots of excessive heavy breathing. Really not worth writing about.

At 8:15 A.M

My calculus professor looks remarkably like a sheep........

At 7:30 A.M

I swear to God I am going to kill the next sheep I see.

At 6:45 A.M

I REALLY hate sheep.

At 5:15 A.M

I hate sheep.

Boo

I'm tired of my new haircut already. It takes too long to fix in the mornings. I think I am going to grow it out and maybe get the blond 20's hair cut, or maybe growing it long again and getting an LA Confidential cut. I could even go crazy and get the hair cut of the girl in Dark City. I won't get my hair cut like either of these.

A Note to Somebody In My Chem Lab

Dear Somebody,
Why did you take my chemicals out of the oven? Are you especially assholish? The were obviously not your own because mine were dry. Shame on you for making me stay an extra 20 minutes.

Burn, Baby, Burn!

I have calculus at 8:30 on MWF. As it is one of my most important classes, I try to stay awake. I do this by getting at least 7 hours sleep, taking vitamins, and drinking copious amounts of coffee. Last night I went to bed at 23:30. I figured by the time it took me to go to sleep, I would get 7.5 hours of sleep. I had been looking forward to bedtime all day because I was very tired. I fell asleep right away (around 23:45). My blissful slumber was rudely interrupted at 0:00 by a stinky fire alarm. I wearily got out of bed, put on slippers, looked for my glasses, gave up looking for my glasses, and wandered blindly into the night. I was perturbed, but optimistic as I figured the alarm would last 15 min at tops whilst they made sure the building was not, in fact, burning to the ground. Then the madness. The alarm would go off for 10-15 seconds and then turn back on. This made the mob increasingly irritated. Campus security sent over their slowest, fattest officer to help us to no avail. The alarm was not going off. The turned down the volume, but still would not let us back in for an hour. They finally let the sleep deprived residents back to their rooms at 1:00. Unfortunately, the alarm was still being a nuisance. The awkward and piercing blast of aggravating noise lasted to 1:30. I got to sleep with less than 6 hours before I had to wake up, and I am not a happy person. I feel that keeping us outside for that long warranted a real fire, and this nonsense of 1:00 re-entry for no reason is a viable excuse for a grumpy mood on my part today.

Bad Karma

I was just talking with the smartest guy I know and he told me his English teacher in college is just like Carol Ann*. The only differences are he looks like Tom Cruise with facial hair and doesn't give As. I wonder, what could he have done in a past life to deserve such punishment?

Read some of his 55 page syllabus if you don't believe me. My reaction was " NO! Stop the madness!! MY EYEBALLS ARE BLEEDING!!!" I feel sorry for him really. He has post-traumatic stress syndrome from the experience and he has to relive it. Virginia Tech has a rating system for teachers, here are his reviews.

*Accurate description of C.A.: A crazy woman with a teaching degree teaching senior English. She really doesn't teach English, she teaches her views on life. She recruits other teachers and student into believing and listening to her tirades on shit. Her flying monkeys will do anything to defend her if she is criticizes. She wears big shoulder pads, neon patterns, a magnetic butt pad (which she will stick on any part of you that hurts), chews Nicorette gum in class, and smokes afterwards. She pull her hair when she is stressed, snaps her fingers above her head when she is moved, and dings her gong when she hears something deep. She only likes you and gives you good grades if you write to what she wants to hear. She hated our math/science oriented AP class because we saw through her bullshit and plead loyalty to the other teachers in our school. That and the whole pigeon deal.

YAY!

Yay! I have a new, non-sucky commenting system. Thanks sister.

The Big Goodbye

Well, we all knew it was coming. Tonight was the last night my friends and I spent together before the desert. They are gone for one year in Iraq, and when they get back I will have transferred. It's ok though, even if it is massively depressing, because that's how Hawaii is. People come, people go. One of those things you learn to deal with, even if they are your friends.

A Night in Review

As some of you may or may not know, I have friends in the military here. Pretty much everybody out here is getting sent to Iraq on Monday, so this weekend has been just having a great time. Thursday we all went and saw Big Fish. Last night Army guys Cecil B., Russell Crowe, and J plus me, Roomie, and NS from down the hall went to the beach in hopes of finding some Marine's party. Well, he never showed so we found the biggest bonfire we could and joined that party. We weren't there for 10 minutes before beach patrol showed up and said, "put out this fire and clear out. In 5 minutes everybody is going to get arrested for having alcohol." We aren't stupid. We threw some sand on the fire, grabbed our McDonald's, our beer, and left before the police got REALLY angry. We started and walked down the beach until we found a good spot close to the road, but hidden from sight. I told them if the cops came, I'd use the southern girl routine to get us out of it to get out of it.
You have to understand something, when NS gets some alcohol in her, she likes to get naked. She likes everybody else to get naked, too. We were all standing around and then BAM! She's taking people's shirts off. Me and Roomie's shirts, too. This is not even that weird, though. It's Hawaii, we looked like we were in bathing suits.
What was weird was when one of the guys thought it would be a good idea to cut open a chemical glow stick and paint ourselves up like some sort of wild beach tribe. A wild beach tribe that pisses behind bushes. I just kept praying no body drove by and caught me with my pants down to see a big glowing mass pissing in the sand.
The best part about it was that we all of a sudden decided we needed it off of us, now. We got in the waves and stared to wash it off (it came off easily). It was, however, the precursor to a sequence of several stupid things I did last night. In order:

1. A car came by. Forgetting where I was (in the middle of the ocean), I ducked so then wouldn't see me.

2. Tackled one of the (the hottest of course) guys because we were battling over a glow stick and he pinned me on my back, thereby getting sand all down my back, in my ass crack, in my hair, in my ears, etc.

3. Dove in the sand, thereby getting sand over my front in the same manner as the back side.

4. Drank a beer we had kept cold by sticking part way in the sand. I drank sand. Beer is better when you can crunch it.

5. Yelled at one guy for getting on my bed with sand on him (he was getting sand on my sheets), and then sat on my bed while I was covered in sand.

It was great though. It was the best night I've had here since I got here in August. Yee Haw! Beer on the beach, nothing better.

The Weeks Top Ten

10 (x2)= The number of credit hours I now have this semester.

9 = The number of classes and labs I have this semester.

8 = The number of days this weeks felt like.

7= The number of days this week actually is.

6 = The number of people we fit in a Maxima on Thursday night to go see Big Fish before friends get shipped out to Iraq on Monday.

5 = The number of hours I slept Thursday night .

4 = The number of ant traps Roomie and I set out in our room.

3 = The number of hours I operated on a sheep this morning.

2 = The number of bloody tampons left in the shower stall the past two days.

1 = The number of big, chirpy, scary, flying bugs in the bathroom. It chirps like a gecko.

Yuck

I feel like poo. I feel like there is a little man inside my sinuses trying to get out. I feel like my eyes have been sprayed with sawdust. I feel like poo.

Yes!

Karamel Sutra

Ben & Jerry have made the best ice cream, Karamel Sutra. It is appropriately named because it has caramel ice cream, fudge ice cream, fudge chips, and a caramel core. It is like having oral sex with a spoon. Yum. Ice cream-asm.

Any Influence

A message for anybody out there (wink nudge Palila) with power over what I get for my birthday:

I want a digital camera. I feel I could better document my adventures and convey my feelings if I put pictures from my everyday life on the internet. When it is rainy at home, I will take a tropical paradise picture and cheer everybody up!

Acura-asm

I want this car. That's all.

Knotes

Roomie and I were going to Long's and on the way back saw "HIV retrovirus knotes" that somebody had so graciously put up for the general public to read. Unfortunately some of their "knotes" were WAY off and, for the most part, incoherent. Some excerpts (spelling not changed):

CRACK is not AIDS. CRACK= backing soda+time warp+cocaine

What virus normally attacks tobacco plants? AIDS*

This went on for a good 10 pages, including email addresses for more information. Crazy. Some poor bastard with HIV is probably going to die sooner because of their stupid, crazy, inaccurate "knotes".

*The Tobacco Mosaic Virus is the correct answer.

Motivation

I have devised a plan to motivate me to attend class. If I go to every class every day and do all my homework, at the end of the week I will reward myself with a manicure, Taco Bell, order in pizza, a new shirt, or going out to dinner. Sound good?

Annoying Thing Number One

While the little Nazi who teaches my calculus class has an amusing voice, he does not have an amusing teaching style. His calculus lectures are garbled in this inane German babble and often interjected with long staring pauses.

This is not the annoying part.

The annoying part is when he acts like what he just did as a favor. For example, he wrote length=3. He then said, "I'm being generous, writing this out." Little things like that which he expects copious amounts of praise and thanks for. Yes, thank you for boring me out of my head. He receives praise and thank from his TA. His TA thinks he is God teaching calculus. It is always "Prof. D this" and "Prof. D" that and "when Prof. D. shits, I worship him and only hope that someday my shit will be close to the same level as this God of a little calculus teaching Nazi." He's really annoying. Plus he has red hair and a goatee. A really ugly goatee.

Oui, Oui monsieur

Heather and I were walking back from dinner and we were stopped by the Pizza Hut delivery guy who needed directions. He was kind of very cute and had very appealing accent. After he was finished asking for directions, he thanked us. This was how he thanked us:

Mercie, Mercie vous coux (or however you spell it, I never took French).

Heather and I are deserted our loyalty to Domino's at that precise moment. Wow. A cute French man in Hawaii is unheard of. Seeing as how I am taken at the moment, I would settle for him talking to me in French while taking my pizza order, with no tapeworms.

We wants it, precious.

The Pizza Diet

I have these coupons for Domino's. One of the coupons is for two medium two topping pizzas and CinnaStix (R) and, of course, has a picture of two pizzas with two toppings and a plate of CinnaStix (R). One of the pizzas is clearly mushroom and sausage. The other pizza, however, has definite pepperoni but also is topped with what appear to be small tapeworms. I wonder what they are trying to sell me here in Hawaii. Maybe it is their message that I am a complete heifer compared the majority of females here, and slipping in tapeworms on my pizza is their way of getting me to lose weight.

Not Sure If We Wants It, Precious

Cool nifty gadget powering jacket uses solar panels to charge cell phones, PDAs, and Game Boys among other mobile tech toys. I'm not sure how I feel about it, but the environmentalist in me says YES! and the fashion part of me says NO! I'm torn.

*At $300 a pop, my wallet says no as well. That's two against one, and Mr. Wallet always has the final say in everything.*

Party In My Mouth

The folks at Thai Kitchen are freaking geniuses. They make this soup that's kind of like Ramen except it is rice noodles instead of fried noodles. It actually is good for you!! I mean, compare nutritional information of regular Ramen and Thai Kitchen's version. Take into account serving size. How many of us actually only eat half of the Ramen packet. NO ONE. Plus, the rice noodles are lower in sodium.

After eating my healthy lunch, I proceeded to gobble down a whole bunch of frosted animal cookies which are really bad for you. I then went and washed my bowl with crumbs of shame all over my face, thanking Thai Kitchen for making a lunch that makes me feel less guilty about copious amounts of frosted animal cookies.

Conversation About...

So I was on my way to Long's drug store today and I was a little cranky because that blasted garbage truck woke me up at 5:00 and I couldn't go back asleep (bought sleep aid at during store to help me with jet lag) and partly because today was especially humid, even for Hawaii. I'm just walking up my normal path when a 30 some year old guy strikes up a conversation. He started the conversation by complementing me on my ass (I know it is nice, thanks) and then talks about my peach tattoo. I tried to steer the conversation towards the weather by mentioning how nice Hawaii is in the Spring (it really is my favorite season here), but he just turned the conversation towards my ass again. He finished the conversation by asking me if I wore G-strings.

Whoa, stop, ew.

I don't know if it is my Southern up-bringing or my female nature but I was deeply offended by his question. It took all of my effort not to slap him. Guys, never ask a girl you just met whether she wears G-strings or not. That's just asking for a bitch slapping.

Happy Birthday

Today is RS's 22nd birthday. Happy birthday RS! Treat yourself to some Real Pirates Grog or a Pink Mai Tai!

Miso In a Cup

They sell individual packets of dried miso soup with tofu and spinach here. In 2 minutes, I can have a yummy, nutritious lunch in a cup. Ah, the wonders of freeze dried food.

I Can't Wait to Study Force

The physics room is hot. Like all the other rooms this semester, no air conditioning, and it is an over enrolled lecture hall. Like the physics room, my physics professor, I learned, is hot. I mean he is wow hot. I think this is they way they ensure people will come to class, giving us a hot prof. I think he is gay, though. No straight man uses the words "fabulous", "peruse", and "gem" as much as he does. He still is some nice eye candy, though. Rawr, yum!

Professor Man

My English Professor's name is Man. I like him. I like his name.

Chapter Zewo

So I just got back from my first class of the semester, calculus. Calculus for breakfast at 8:30 am. The professor is this little funny German guy who pronounces zero like zewo. He would have been a shoo in for the priest in the Princess Bride. When he doesn't sound like the priest, he kind of sounds like the guys they had play Nazis in all the Hollywood movies. The building has no air conditioning and is unnaturally warm at 8:30 in the morning, so I am counting on picturing this guy in white clergy robes with a swastika arm band to keep me awake. The calculus book is the only book I have gotten so far with a chapter zero. Our first assignment is to read chapter zero. YAY!

How Was Your Holiday?

Well here are the highlights of my vacation:

~Winter solstice dinner. Hope all of you who came had a good time!!

~Palila went into the hospital with appendicitis and that's where RS and I spent our New Year's eve.

~My friend Tab's sister-in-law was found murdered. I spent last New Year's eve with her, actually.

~I got lost in the Louisville ghetto on the way to take RS to the airport. It took me 30 minutes to get out.

It was a good time and I really hated to come back. This semester will be shorter though. I didn't come a month early and the break is more in the middle. How was your holiday?

Another Plane Ride!!

Ok, just so we are all clear on one thing, I have to take 3 planes each time I travel anywhere so Northwest Airlines can give me the lowest rate possible, making my travel experiences more convenient, affordable, and pleasant. The first two flights coming home were about as dull a vanilla pudding. It was wonderful. I had rows to myself so I streached out and slept for 2 hours (in hour increments). I love the Sola juice bar in the Minneapolis/ St. Paul airport (by gate F3). Somehow drinking a fruit smoothie with ginseng powder and a shot of wheatgrass makes my flying experience just that much better.

The flight from Minneapolis to Honolulu was a different story. This is a 8 1/2 hour plane ride for starters and I thought I was increasing my good karma by switching seats with a man so he could sit next to his wife. By doing so, I gave up my nice, chushy window seat for an isle seat. I also landed myself next to a man and his daughter who smelled like poo. Not only did I get a whiff of poo every time they moved, but this average sized man decided it was ok to angle himself halfway into my seat. The last straw of any feelings of niceness I had for him was gone when he woke me to get out when the people on the other side of him were awake (the seating on the airplane is 2-5-2 and we were in the middle section). I almost punched him.

Towards the end of this flight, an elderly gentleman in a wheelchair pooed his pants so the last 2 hours were especially poo smelling. Add this to the 50 + 50+ Minnesotans going to an Agriculture convention drinking the plane out of beer and talking loudly, and it is safe to say I was not a happy camper when I got off the airplane. There were two good points and one more bad point. There is a great flight attendant who always seems to make his way onto my Hawaii flights, and my cab driver was very nice. The dumb Backstreet boy RA was at the desk whenever I checked in.

I Hate Detroit

When I awoke at 11:20 on the plane from Minnesota to Detroit I realized my next flight left at 12, panic started to sink in. After we got off the plane at 11:40 and I found my flight to be on the other side of the airport, I almost started to cry. I started to tear when I realized Detroit is the Hell of all architectural anything and there are more stairs in there than a Tibetan monastery. I was running and running and finally got there at 11:55 only to find out they were running late and would begin boarding momentarily. In my tired, cranky, panicky, crying state I almost punched the happy man sitting next to me in the nose. That bastard.

The Fat Man

I sat next to the fattest man in the world on my 7.5 hour flight from Honolulu to Minnesota. He was so fat he needed a seatbelt extender to fasten his. His fat sasquach legs and arm kept bumping into me as I willed myself into a tiny little ball reading Harry Potter by the window. The turbulence made his fat jliggle and roll more than an N*Sync video. He invaded my seat. I paid for a whole one, I only got half of it. He stared me down when I got my food first. I was afraid he was going to eat me.

YAY FOR SNOW!!!

It's SNOWING!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YAY!!!!!!!!!!! WOHOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Gross

In my new book, 101 Tropical Drinks, they have this section called "oddities". Now RS and I came to the conclusion that some people sat around and thought "What should definately NOT go together?" and "How can we make everybody who drinks this throw up?"

Three concoctions you will definately be tasting twice (in order of vomit scale numbering):

Velociraptor (6.5 on vomit scale)
1 1/2 oz. vodka
4 Tbsp. Chicken broth
3 dashes Tobasco sauce
Shake and pour over ice in highball glass. Garnish with a slice of carrot.

Real Pirates Grog (7.1 on vomit scale)
1 pkg. instant oatmeal (Quaker instant Oatmeal Cinamon & Spice preferred)
2 cans beer
1/2 c. spiced rum
Dash paprika
Cook oatmeal using the beer. Stir in other ingredients. Serves 4 (yeah right).

And the winner of gross (8.7 on vomit scale):

Saladtosser (name says it all)
1/3 oz. tequila (preferably Black Death tequila)
1/3 oz. Absolut Peppar Vodka
1/3 oz. A-1 Steak Sauce
Chocolate Syrup
Corn Kernals
Layer in a shot glass. Garnish the rim of glass with chocolate syrup and top with corn kernals.

Hours

Hours of Mindless fun. Throw Santa across a ravine. My farthest dropping distance was 343.10. Click to run, click and hold to arm, and let go to release! I can see Rudolph, but what does he do??

*Update* I got a 346.1 and slid right into Rudolph. He didn't do a damn thing.

Oldest Penis

Oldest penis in the world was a swimmer.

Changing Times

As the final days of this semester come to a close, I think it is only fitting to look at the progression of bug colonies in the 3rd floor bathroom.
In chronological order:

~ Flies - they have continued throughout the semester

~ The big-ass red ants with black stripes on the ass - showed up after ceiling panels were moved, I think they were exterminated. They're little dead bodies were everywhere.

~Flying ants - showed up at the same time the red ants did. They did not die and probably formed...

~ The eerily tiny ants that crawl under the mirror from the hole in the wall to the trash can- they are still thriving also.

~The big bee infestation - short lived

~ The wasp infestation - also short lived

~ The one large moth that sat on the ceiling - disappeared after 3 days

~ The little furry bee infestation - unfortunately, was long lasting. The bees became many, and when they did die, you had to be careful not to step on they poisoned carcasses.

~ The tiny mosquito things in the showers - well, the started there at least. This is the most current bug colony. I think they were breeding in out pipes. Now, when you take a shower there are many bug carcasses on the walls and you can kill 3 by just putting your hand on the wall. You spend about 5 min at the start just killing bugs. They are starting to migrate out of the bathroom. I saw many of these over-active, annoyingly small buggers in the light in the 3rd floor commons.

Apparently the gecko family that lives in our hallway is not doing it's job properly. Neither is the spider that lives in my room.

Finals Suck

Well, just the anatomy final. It was like being ass raped sans Vaseline. Ironically it was on the intestines.

X-mas Wish List

Anything from this site will suffice. I prefer a non-used part; I don't know how abusive previous owners were.

Adam and Steve

Although the big news item right now is the capture of Saddam Hussein, I think that topic is a bit overrun with discussion. I'd like to focus on gay marriage as my news item today.

First, the subject of homosexual marriage must be looked at from one of two angles: union of God or civil union.

If it is to be viewed as a union of God (where the idea of a bond between man and woman ONLY has roots), then the government should have no say in what goes on because there is a thing called separation of church and state. The government is not allowed to tell the country how to worship or uphold religious beliefs as a way of law regarding the civil union of two people who may be very much in love. To those who have religious convictions about this, you do not have to be involved, you are not a part of the marriage. Marriage, in the courts' eyes is a civil union and religion may or may not be a part of it. Furthermore, not allowing homosexual marriages forces them to commit another sin, sex outside of wedlock by not allowing the union. Many heterosexuals engage in this act, too, but it is still a sin in many religions.
If marriage is to be viewed as a civil union, then the courts have control, but they are discriminating against homosexuals. Homosexuals have no less love in their relationships than heterosexual relationships. Giving tax cuts and benefits to married couples and not allowing homosexual marriage is and outright and blatant attack on a group of people. Not allowing homosexual marriage is discriminating against a group of people, downgrading their rights and human beings.
On a personal note, I feel that when two people have decided to spend the rest of their lives together they have every right to announce it to the world, confirm it within the courts, and celebrate. Whether or not homosexuals are allowed a religious ceremony is up to the church, not the courts. Bush's proposed ideal "protection" of marriage would have all women as baby-makers and stay at home moms, while the men brings in the dough. I am not a baby-maker.

Splashdown-asm

In case you saw it at my Sister's site and thought you could live without it, or you are just now happening upon this information you need to download the Splashdown Blueshift CD. It was never released, nor will it so it is perfectly legal to get it in this fashion. It is one you really should get. "All Things" and "Sugar High" are just like having a Splashdown-asm in the privacy of your own computer.

Glow In the Dark Is Fun

RS says, "I want light up shoes." I go looking for them and I find Glow Shoes! The trick is the chemical glow sticks or LED battery lights put in the soles. It's going to be his birthday present because I already know what he is getting for X-mas. If any one needs a Christmas or Birthday idea for me, I really like the Soul Radiance shoe or maybe some lights for the shoes....

Hot Topic Blues

Hot Topic Blues
Here is my gripe of today: I dislike shopping at Hot Topic because I hate dealing with the Hot Topic crew. Maybe I have had bad experiences with the Hot Topic crew, but they all act to me like they are SO original and if you walk in not totally decked out all in one style, you are a poser and not really rebellious. They bash on people for conforming by buying clothes at other stores, but aren't the people who only shop at Hot Topic conforming also by labeling themselves? On the Hot Topic website, you will notice a little quick thing that lets you choose your "scene" and then the only clothes that are shown are those associated with that genre of music. They are, in essence, telling you what Punks should wear and what Indie kids should wear. They are doing the same thing that Abercrombie and Fitch does and saying they are trying to make every one an individual. Also, whenever I walk in, the crew tends to not help me or even gives me dirty looks (mostly the girls with a gazillion an one ear and nose piercings). Right, because I normally cover up my tattoos and piercings, am smiling, have hair of relatively normal color, and am not decked out in all Hot Topic merchandise I am not an original and do not deserve to be in that store. Like I said, maybe I have just had bad Hot Topic experiences, but the complete hypocrisy of the store makes me want to avoid going in there. My curse is I like their pants. I can't win.

*I did have one friend on the Hot Topic crew in JC. His name was Dallas and I met him in the Culp. The girl he was sitting with on this particular day also worked at Hot Topic in JC and gave me dirty looks like I was nothing more than a stupid little piece of trash.

Boys Are SOOO Silly

This guy at the cafeteria put sour cream on his burger, thinking it was mayonnaise. He said, "I wonder if they [cafeteria workers] know it's not mayonnaise." Then he went and complained. We were having quesadillas that night.

Let Us Be Free

I found this great site all about consumer freedom. These people have researched different organizations and exposed many for what they really are- radical groups who put a friendly public face on to collect funds. I originally went to this site because, to put it lightly, I HATE PETA!!! I could go on forever about them, but my main beef is that they are a radical organization devoted to making all animals "free", even those that depend on human care (some varieties of domesticated animals), and disregard for aimal and human welfare in the process. Anyways, the site also has some VERY interesting insights in to the Adbusters campaign (carol ann's fave.), MADD, and the Center for Food Safety.

Honey, Would You Like a Steak?

Ok, so I was looking for pictures of anorexic and bulimic chicks for my presentation for ethics. I have a bit on eating disorders. I never knew how badly some of these chicks get. I mean, I didn't think you could get that thin. I found these on pro-ana/pro-mia sites. I'll provide a link to one, you can decide if you REALLY want to go and look at more.

Eloise

Eloise, the cafeteria lady, is my hero. She makes my day better when she says, "Hello, you want take-out today?" and swipes my card. I don't know how she does it, but she just does.

Saturday, December 06, 2003

YAY!!

The more and more I look at it, the more and more I am psyched about the new Harry Potter movie. That's all I have to say.

PETA Sucks

While I have nothing against various organizations demonstrating their beliefs I have a problem with animal rights activists who feel the need to "liberate" animals without consideration of the consequences. For example, I came across an article about Rightists feeding pork to sheep. They did it so the sheep would not be sent to Kuwait.

"The move left 1,800 sheep unsuitable for export to Islamic buyers in Kuwait because pork, and anything it comes into contact with, is considered unclean by Muslims, Victoria state's chief veterinary officer Hugh Millar said on Friday. "

Here is my problem with this: The activists may have achieved their goal by not exporting these live animals, but just replaced one harm with another. Sheep digest food basically through fermentation and are herbivorous. Feeding a sheep meat messes up their digestive system because meat is not the best at fermenting. I also find it ironic that these Rightists fed the sheep and animal product indicating they believe the pigs life is not as valuable as the sheep. Pigs raised for meat are not housed in the best of conditions. In fact, the conditions are much like those a sheep would encounter during shipping.

I Wonder

Is it kosher to put what you really think about people on Christmas cards? For example "To my socially inept cousin" or "To my whiny bitch ass *hopefully not for long* uncle" Is that ok?

ShitFuckDamn

I got my pictures back from TX. Unfortunately, my Advantix camera had switched to PANORAMIC and I just didn't bother to notice. Fortunately, I can get my prints developed in the standard format even though they were originally printed panoramic because the advantix film lets you do that. Unfortunately I wasted all that $$ on the pictures and I'm sure reprints are not the cheapest.

NO MAS!

I want to know when my final exam times are. All of my professors except one put the final exam time and place on the syllabus. ONE prof did not. I want to know when the exam is. That's reasonable, isn't it? He told me to look on the web. I did. I got this page. Notice anything?? That's right. They assign an EXAM SYMBOL for each class time. Now I that I know my exam time SYMBOLS I shoulc be able to find the exam times, right? WRONG!! I still have no clue, and I have seen just bout every ding dong dang site associated with UHM. I'm about pissed and I still don't know when my exam is.

RAIN!

It's raining so much the water is up to my ankles. No joke.

Thanksgiving week:

Sat. ~ Arrive, check in to hotel because RS doesn't want to expose me to his dad and brother yet. Run into his sister at dinner and spent the day with her.

Sun.~ Didn't do much except sit around, watch movies, sleep, eat, and make fun of the people next door having loud sex for about an hour. Watched National Lampoon's Thanksgiving Reunion, a Janis Joplin special, and a Jimi Hendrix special.

Mon.~ Get picked up by RS's sister and head towards RS's dad's apartment. Spend the day watching movies and drinking coffee.

Tues. ~ Went to the Nasher Sculpture Museum, Victoria's Secret Flagship store (with RS's Sister), and got really bad service at the Cheesecake factory. Stayed at RS's sister's house.

Wed. ~ *highlight* JR and Future Mrs. JR came over. Not so sure about her being future Mrs., so I will revert to Milk for blog sake.

T-day ~ wow. RS's family is weird. His brother-in-law's mother started talking about how she wanted grandchildren because she was getting old (65) and tried hooking me up with her other son the whole day. I wanted to scream "You crazy bitch leave me alone!" but instead I had to sit next to her. I like RS's mom though. She's on a permanent acid trip (I think).

Fri.~ Went and met the rest of RS's friends and got tattoos (little small bird with rose). Stayed up all night talking before he took me to the airport.

Been depressed because of 3 reasons:
1. I am not with RS
2. I was reminded how much Hawaii sucks by going and spending time in a place I like with people I like and being able to talk to my friends.
3. It has been raining non-stop since I got here (hence the water p to my ankles) and is just not weather conducive to a happy disposition.

Sigh

Not happy, not happy. I hate living here so much. 3 weeks till I go home. Why do I hate this place so much? I am stuck. There is no going to somebody's house on long weekends or having a halfway normal life. I'm all depresed though because I just spent the week with my awsome boyfriend and his wonderful family and now I am back in hell and it is raining. Poo. I really want a cat right now, but, alas, all I have is sheep. I could find a dog, too. Everybody here is a dog person. No no, I want a kitty. The week was pretty entertaining and I wil tell all when I am not so sad.

Holidays

Sorry you haven't been getting exhilarating updates from Hawaii recently, but I have about a zillion and one things to do before I leave and have gotten about 10 done. I will be in Texas the week of Thanksgiving spending holidays with RS and his family. I am meeting his parents for the first time. I'll be back on the 29th and will tell all about it. I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday. Any special plans?

Good Thanksgiving movie- Pieces of April

PS~ Ghani, do they celebrate T-day over there? You could always start explanations with "When you guys persecuted those of different religions and sent over your unwanted people to die in the new land, and before they killed all the natives and stole their land..."

One More Time Waster

Catch up on your dead baby jokes.

Q: How do you make a dead baby float?
A: Two scoops of ice cream, one scoop of dead baby.

Ah... Mindlessness

Once again the internet has provided me with countless was to avoid my homework. Everything from making tampons into angels to making fake obituaries. If that isn't enough time wasting, then how about ordering new breath spray or joining the fight against clown porn?? If that still isn't enough, just find out what serial killer you are.

If i was a serial killer i would be Jack the Ripper.

Jack the Ripper, by far the most notorious killer of all time. What would drive a man to kill 5 prostitutes, surgically mutilate the bodies, then stop, to never be heard from again? Most of the murders were pretty much the same, the victim had her throat cut and her abdomen exposed, the intestines were placed over her right shoulder and sometimes a kidney or even the heart had been removed.

Jack the Ripper's murders are still unsolved.

I'm Afraid to Know

I was just reading the print on my diet orange soda from Safeway. It says, in largish print, SODA WITH OTHER NATURAL FLAVORS. I don't know what to make of it all. Is soda a natural flavor?

It Would Shame My Name

I went to the Reel Big Fish concert last night. Ska must be the hardest music that reaches over here because everyone decided to mosh to it. It wasn't like a circle mosh pit or anything. No, it was a few moshers dispersed in the entire crowd o you had to mosh whether you wanted to or not. It isn't even moshing music. They were all stoked about it afterwards. "OMG I moshed so hard to that song." or "That was a good mosh." were the common consensus among the exiting crowd. I want them to go to a PMK5 or a Manson concert and REALLY see what is moshing music. You can't listen to ska and mosh at the same time. I'm being redundant because I want to get my point across. Now, I was close to the front because, while I don't even like Reel Big Fish, I was going to have a good time. I was getting pushed around, too. I'm a big girl, I can hold my own, until I found they also didn't know the cardinal rule: if some one falls down, you pick them up. I fell. I then found myself with a 300+ lb. guy on top of my. One thought ran through my head: "I am NOT dying in a FUCKING mosh pit at a Reel Big Fish concert". I would have been SO embarrassed. I am kind of embarrassed I even went.

Riiiiiiiiiiiiight.....

I had a weird dream that I was wearing black pants with letter of the alphabet on it. The strange part was I had a penis. The stranger part was it was pierced. The strangest part was that I still had my female parts and neither myself nor anybody else thought this was weird in the least.
I finished my paper on how a rhesus monkey fetus lung develops!!! YAY!

Papaya Stem Makes a Good Pipe

Saturday I went to help build this structure for the people in the people volcano to stand on. The people volcano is made of several models, climbing on this thing, who are then covered in a sheet soaked in quick drying plaster. I am one of the models for this. I was chosen, well, because I have a big ass. Anyways, I went to the garden where we were putting this thing together. One of the other models and I went and got starfruit and coconut from the garden for breakfast and lunch. There were about eight people there working and we had "such positive energy" according to Brotha Joe. There was a lesbian couple there (one did not shave armpits), a really tall skinny guy named Dark who brought his daughter, Brotha Joe who is the man with the vision, the model who went with me to get fruit, and a professor in the art department. At around 1 PM, some one went and got beer, and somebody else went into the garden and picked a papaya stem off of the tree. Apparently, putting a small rock in the papaya stem acts as a little screen while letting smoke go around it. If you smoke it at night, you can see the glow of any hot ashes that may have escaped. This is also apparently common knowledge among real islanders. It reminded me of the McGiver (sp?) smoker in Half Baked. "I need an avocado, a snorkel......."

Lesson of the day:
Papaya stem makes a good weed pipe.

*Note: I did not participate in any chemical activities. Not my bag, not even beer with surgery later and around people I don't know.*

One Day It Will Hurt

I want to take this moment to talk about chairs. Specifically, I want to talk about my chair this LOVELY university provides me with. We will ignore the stiky stain on the apholstery for right now and talk about the mechanics of it. It is designed to "prevent" people from falling out by rocking slightly back and stopping due to flat dents on the rocker part. This is complete crap. If you so happen to put any sudden pressure on it, say in popping your back, you will fall backwards....in slow motion. I do this on a daily basis. They are trying to kill us here- first fattening us up- and then trying to kill us.

Do You Know...

...seeing an Asian midget on a tiny scooter right after chemistry is the funniest shit ever?
...skipping one class allows for millions of productive things to be done because the offices on campus hold crap hours?
...a fleace blanket makes an excellent cape?
...if you curl in the fetal position and tell people to stop and go away, they laugh at you?
...vegan black bean soup/chili with rice and cheese is the best thing our cafteria serves?
...the baked potato lady is seriously attached to her bps and didn't want me to have one? She kept taking it back!
...Safeway's generic Dr. Pepper is called Dr. Skippy?

I Like the Angel of Death

I found a nifty game where you are God and you have gotten angry at all the living beings. You must destroy as many as possible with your automatic lighting bolts and your new weapons; you get a new one on each level. I got to level 5 and decided I needed to go to bed. I like the little game while the real game is loading, too.

I'm Sure It TRIED To Piss On Me

I have a question for all you dog owners who go to college or owned a dog while in college: Did you take your dog to class and let it run around and sniff people like it would just LOVE to piss on their shit? No? Tell that to the chick in my class who brought her dog to class and let it run around and sniff people like it would just LOVE to piss on their shit. Yes, I understand we are mostly animal science majors and I understand it is an animal ethics course, but chick could have just brought in a picture or something. Let me just make something common knowledge- I don't like dogs. I love animals. I do, really. I would not clean up sheep shit and hand feed the little ones if I didn't like animals a whole lot, but I don't like dogs. I especially don't like dogs coming over and sniffing my backpack like it is great fun to find new territory. I wonder how chick would like it if I brought my cat in to vomit and scratch up her stuff. Maybe I'll try it next week.

It Smelled Like Sweaty Guy, Cigarettes, and Liquor

So now I am 100% sober and have viewed video (yes, it is on tape) of Halloween. I also had a miniature party last night so here is a chronological order of momentous events of the past two days.
Halloween:
1. Got shit faced and started calling everybody on my call list. Only one of my friends and my sister answered.
2. Walked to the bus stop and got a glowstick from some chick named Kendra. Mine was orange, but I stole a drunk army guy's blue one.
3. Pissed in the bushes of a bank with exceptionally thick foliage.
4. Bought cigarettes.
5. Walked around Waikiki and wrote drunken cursive on some guy wearing a chalkboard.
6. Stopped at Taco Bell on the way back to campus.
7. Flashed some car to let us get over into their lane.
8. Walked in to see some guy running naked out of his room with a towel around his waist followed by another guy. He said, "Whoa, that was close, you almost saw the biggest dick on the island." I said, "I doubt it." He said, "Oh really, want to see?" and showed it to me and the 3 girls I was with.

Last Night:
1. Drank a little bit, just buzzed for about 30 min.
2. Told RS some things I probably shouldn't have (2 weeks and 5 days till we see each other!)
3. Listened to RS's Halloween night. Apparently he humped a plastic Frankenstien, made out with a keg, licked beer off the floor because he was spilling it, and jumped into the pool fully clothed.
4. Saw the guy who showed me his dick. I said, "NICE DICK!" He said, "Yeah right , you never saw it." I told him that he did the night before. He didn't remember what he did the night before.
5. Saw the video of Halloween with me asking how big everybody's penis is and yelling at them until they answer me.
6. Had 3 Army guys dress in my dresses.
7. Came back from watching a movie to find a sweaty, smelly Army guy on my bed.
8. Kicked him out of my bed, made him sleep on the floor on my comforter, sprayed my bed with body splash, and slept on the side farthest away from where he was.
9. Did laundry this morning. Washed all my sheets, including my comforter.
